Pre-diabetes

Pre-diabetes means that you are on your way to becoming a full blown type 2 diabetic and the cause is mainly lifestyle choices. This type of diabetes is on the increase worldwide. Diabetes has been declared the most widespread non-communicable disease in the world by the World Health Organization.

Pre-diabetics in the US

There are over 90 million pre-diabetics in the US alone. Pre-diabetes is the first step to becoming a full blown diabetic. One of the most recent research studies has shown that the production of processed foods and fast foods containing large quantities of refined sugar is on the increase. For example, in Canada, in 2017, the health minister issued a warning saying four out of five Canadians, including young people, are at risk of becoming diabetic. Many of those at risk are already pre-diabetic.
